A 47-year-old man, who was in a relationship with the mother of an 11-year-old girl, has admitted to molesting his girlfriend’s daughter on seven separate occasions between August 2023 and March 2024. He took over 200 videos and photos during these assaults, which were stored on his electronic devices.

The judge in this case, Deputy District Judge Ivy Chui Yee-mei, condemned the defendant’s actions as “despicable and sickening.” The fact that he was 35 years older than the victim at the time of these offenses makes it even more egregious. His use of a home security camera to record these heinous acts is a chilling reminder of how technology can be misused.

The relationship between the defendant and the mother of the girl is also significant. They started dating in 2019, after the girl’s biological father had passed away.
